I’ve been interested in the ways we experience art, or broadly, our experiences in art that contribute to our understanding of the world. I do not create works about one subject or another, the purpose is to be closer to beauty, and where beauty is not abstract, but concretely experienced. My desire is to share something contemplative and experiential. I am not interested in things that represent or stand in for something else, I’m interested in the primary or absolute reality of the beauty in experiences. In sharing these experiences, I wish to blur the boundary between art and life. I feel my job as an artist is not to provide resolution, but simply to be a catalyst to experiences.
